Peanut Butter Buckeye Bars

RECIPE 
Peanut Butter Buckeye Bars 
Ingredients: 
  • 1 Cup Peanut Butter 
  • 1 Cup Butter 
  • 2 Cups Graham Cracker Crumbs 
  • 2 1/2 Cups Powdered Sugar 
  • 10 Ounces Milk Chocolate Chips 
  • 6 Tablespoons Cooking Oil 


 Peanut Butter Buckeye Bars 
Soften peanut butter and butter in microwave and mix together. Stir in graham cracker crumbs and powdered sugar. Mix well. Press mixture in to bottom of a back pan (9" x 13"). Melt chocolate chips on low heat, stir in oil. Pour over crust and put in refrdigerator for at least 5 hours. Cut in small bars.

Serving size has yet to be determined. Could be 1, could be 12. Depends :0)

Green cleaning supplies - I have to try this!

That Tilex bleach stuff and Scrubbing Bubble spray is kicking out some serious fumes.

Cleaning supplies are a big budget buster in our house. Even if we were empty nesters again, the cleaning supply fumes are just plain BAD for us.

I like to find ways to save money on disposable items like cleaning supplies and at the same time feel safer and better about being green.




Here is my experiment of the day...

  • White distilled vinegar
  • Hydrogen peroxide 


I have those two ingredients! I'm going to clean something with this today and see how it works. I have been using those daily sprays that look innocent enough - on the glass shower doors.  I accidentally discovered that vinegar works on glass doors as well.

We were removing wallpaper in our bedroom and I needed to mix up a batch of hot water and vinegar to spray on the walls to help peel off the wallpaper. I didn't realize that I had put the spray bottle back in the bathroom, not realizing it was the diluted vinegar!   I sprayed it on the shower doors and remembered right away because vinegar does NOT smell like daily shower cleaner :0)   - Long story short...it works.

Now I'll try the hydrogen peroxide with it too and see how it works! I mentioned it to my daughter who is a 28-year-old, mom of three) and she said, "Yep Saw that on Pinterest"   I should have known. We have a total of six bathrooms in our big Columbus Ohio home. Didn't plan it that way, but we are blessed to be a multi-generational household with a mother-in-law suite - so this is our reality. Ou tof curiousity, I ran a search for other homes in the area that have more than 5 bathrooms and found over 100.

What is the difference between a Short Sale on a VA loan vs a VA Loan Compromise Sale?

Be careful where you are reading about the information. There are "google results" that show websites with information about VA Loan Compromise Sales, but they are actually website that originate VA loans. Some sites are not government sites, so the information might not be totally accruate. 
I did some research on some of the websites that look like they are official VA loan originators - with names that would make you believe that they are official. Just be careful.
I start with the website http://www.benefits.va.gov since it is a government site.

I could just hit "repeat" on this video to listen to the sweet sounds over and over again. I always thought that the loud chirp sound was a cardinal. It's CHIPPY! (our chipmonk "friend" that keeps cloning himself. Anyway, on a grey, war...m day like today, these sounds are soothing...Come for a visit before the weather is too cool.

95% of today’s buyers find their new home online. In perusing the online photo galleries, they look for listings with lot’s of photos, and pass over the photos that indicate too much updating will have to happen before they move in. The buyers of today are busy, usually dual income, raising a family with no time to update, replace key components that are worn or tired, or to paint walls that require neutralizing. (You can expect a lower offer due to these factors)

One of the easiest and most cost effective ways to prepare your home is to de-personalize the walls. To de-personalize choose neutrals that will accomodate any decor and that create a blank canvas for the potential buyer to visualize how they want to personalize their new space.

My personal and professional choice is Sherwin Williams Kestrel White, #7516. It is the chameleon of neutrals changing to accomodate the floor color and varying natural light. Almost 85% of the time it is the right choice.

Ohio Fall Foliage Maps - Fall Color Reports from around Ohio


Seems like fall got here a little faster this year. When I'm out and about during the day, I try to notice the changing fall foliage before it's gone, but it's tough when I'm driving!

There is a maple tree in my neighborhood that is pink right now. Just beautiful. I get a good sample of a lot of different types of trees in my own neighborhood. We walk the dogs and take in the scenery at the same time. There is so much more to see, but I wasn't sure where to get more information. I saved this link from last year, so I hope it is helpful to you.

Here is a link to a web site for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources with tons of info about where and when to see the best color. I plan to check it out (after the Buckeye game, of course!)
